MAJORGEEKS
- MajorGeeks prides itself on curator-level selection: the editors hand-pick and test software, including shareware and freeware, to reduce the risk of bundled junk.
SNAPFILES
- SnapFiles provides user reviews, editor reviews, and classifies software into freeware, shareware, portable, etc. Their editors also highlight "Daily Freeware Picks."
DOWNLOAD CREW
- DownloadCrew offers a mix of free, trial, and full software, with editor commentary, reviews, and safe download links.
SOURCEFORGE
- Originally built for open source projects, SourceForge also lists many projects offering trial / shareware versions and features community reviews, version history, and source code in many cases. (Be mindful: in past years the site had controversies over bundled installers; today it displays warnings on risky projects.)
